HEJ! I'm Bianca! 👋 With 17 years in the digital business, I blend cutting-edge aesthetics with data-driven insights, ensuring that every design is not only visually appealing but also intuit͡ive͢ an̡d͠ ͠e̴ff͡ect͞ive. [TILT]
You know what?! Let’s not dive into the details of my work process here. Why? Well, to be honest, I think most processes sound the same — double diamond, product discovery, research… you know the drill. We designers follow some kind of framework, but when everyone keeps repeating the same buzzwords, it gets a bit dull. But in reality, this page is titled “About” and it's about this designer here, HEJ, again!
I've been glued to a computer screen since 1995 with my family's first Intel 486. From the start, I was hooked on Paint, Paint Shop Pro, or any drawing software I could get my hands on. I designed more wallpapers for friends on IRC than I can count! Things took a crazy turn when I picked up a book on writing HTML in notepad and created my very first website back in 1997.
So, yeah, I graduated in Industrial Design in 2007, but my experience goes way back to when Cranberries were a band, not just a fruit. 🌿 🫐
I have fun with anything visual design, and when I can make something come alive interactively, it’s like watching exploding fireworks. Add people into the equation, and what was once just a piece of code and visual beauty transforms into something truly ready to use. That’s where those design processes I mentioned earlier come into play.
My daily inspiration comes from all sorts of places [in pop culture], but if I had to give a shoutout to a few, it would definitely include Japanese animation from the ‘80s and ‘90s — the ones made with cels, not digital, mind you. When it comes to photographers, I have to mention William Eggleston and Ansel Adams, though there are so many others that it feels wrong not to list them all. I’m also captivated by poster design, Swiss design — mainly the work of Josef Müller-Brockmann. I’m drawn to the concept of breaking something apart and, in the process, making it work even better. There’s a certain power in that way of thinking, don't you think? 👾
